Programme Overview

Day 1

Your adventure begins the moment you arrive in Oxford. After checking into your historic college residence, take time to settle in and soak up the academic charm of your surroundings. In the evening, step into the world of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis with our signature "Evening with the Inklings" event. Enjoy lively discussion, a themed meal, and stories set in the very pubs and halls where these legendary writers once gathered. It's the perfect way to begin your journey into Oxford's rich heritage.

Welcome to Oxford

Day 2
 

Begin your day with "Aslan’s Breakfast Table"—a nod to Narnia served in the grandeur of your Oxford college dining hall. Enjoy a guided college tour, followed by a lecture from an Oxford professor exploring the enduring relationship between literature and academic tradition.

Midday brings "Lewis Lunch," honoring the legacy of C.S. Lewis, before stepping into the spiritual and architectural beauty of the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin. In the afternoon, trace the footsteps of Tolkien, Lewis, and their literary circle on the "Oxford and the Inklings Walking Tour."

The evening is rich with fellowship and celebration: dine in style at "The Fellowship Feast," and cap off the night with a spirited "Pub Crawl of the Pens," visiting the historic haunts where stories were swapped, argued, and imagined into being.

Oxford’s Literary Imagination

Day 3

Begin your day with "The Queen of Toast," a whimsical breakfast inspired by Wonderland’s most notorious monarch. Then, dive into the heart of Oxford’s with a visit to the Bodleian Library—one of the oldest and most treasured book collections in the world.

After a fantastical "Lunch in Wonderland," you’ll explore Christ Church, the filming site for Harry Potter’s Great Hall and a real-world inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice stories along with a stop at Alice’s Shop. Our walk continues with Oxford’s trailblazing women. We will visit Dorothy L. Sayers’s birthplace and tour Somerville College, her alma mater. Somerville College counts many writers among its alumnae, including Vera Brittain, Dorothy Rowe, Muriel Jaeger, and Muriel St. Clare Byrne to name a few.

Later, indulge in "The Mad Hatter’s Tea," a themed afternoon tea full of playful charm and storytelling delights. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure, with a free dinner and time to explore Oxford’s vibrant culinary scene or relax at your college.

Day 4

Start your morning with "Great Eggspectations," a Dickens-inspired breakfast that sets the tone for a day steeped in story. Wander the halls of the Ashmolean Museum, home to priceless artifacts and artistic treasures that echo centuries of cultural influence.

After a midday "Brideshead Board" lunch, continue your literary journey with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Oxford University Press Museum. Then, explore how storytelling has evolved in "From Quill to Kindle," a curated bookstore and literary history experience.

As night falls, immerse yourself in the world of Charles Dickens with an atmospheric "Dickens Dinner"—a feast full of Victorian charm. Round out the evening with a spine-tingling "Ghost Tour" through Oxford’s ancient alleyways and haunted history. This day blends tradition, innovation, and just a touch of the supernatural.

Centuries of Oxford’s Influence

Day 5

Begin your day with "Much Ado about Breakfast," a delightful start that sets the stage for a journey into Shakespeare’s world. Then it's off to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of the Bard, where you’ll walk the same cobbled streets that shaped his early years and literary genius.

Pause for a regal "King Lear’s Lunch" at a classic English inn before heading to the historic Warwick Castle. Towering ramparts, royal tales, and immersive exhibits bring England’s dramatic past to life.

Return to Oxford in the evening and enjoy a free dinner at your leisure—an ideal time to reflect on a day of timeless stories, towering castles, and theatrical history.
